Who we are
consulado-ecuatoriano.com is an independent editorial project that gathers, in one place and in plain language, everything the Ecuadorian community in the United States needs to know about its consulates: where they are, which number to call, when they open, which procedures they handle and how to book an appointment.
The project grew out of a simple frustration: this information is scattered everywhere. Each consular office keeps its details on a different website, opening hours change without notice, and many pages are hard to read on a phone. Our job is to pull all of that together and lay it out simply, so you can settle a specific question in just a few minutes.
Who this site is for
It is written for the more than half a million Ecuadorians living in the U.S. — from the large communities in Queens, Newark and New Haven to those who live far from any consulate. Whether you need to renew a passport, apply for your national ID card (cédula), grant a power of attorney, register a child born in the U.S. or simply find out which consulate covers your state, you'll find it explained here step by step.
How we verify our information
Accuracy comes first. Before we publish a consulate profile or a how-to guide, we cross-check the details against official sources of the Ecuadorian State:
- The official subsites for each office on cancilleria.gob.ec (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility).
- The Virtual Consulate of Ecuador portal and the appointment system at citas.cancilleria.gob.ec.
- The official channels of each consulate (institutional email addresses and verified social accounts).
Even so, addresses, hours and phone numbers can change without warning. That's why we always recommend confirming the detail on the consulate's official website before you travel there, and we review our pages regularly. If you spot something out of date, let us know through our contact page: we'll verify it and fix it.
What we are not
consulado-ecuatoriano.com is an independent informational site. We are not the official page of Ecuador's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, of the Government of Ecuador or of any consulate. We do not book appointments, we do not issue passports or ID cards, and we do not represent any Ecuadorian authority.
Every official procedure is carried out through the State's own channels: cancilleria.gob.ec and your consulate's official website. You can read the full details in our Legal Notice.
How the site is funded
Access is completely free. To cover the costs of writing, hosting and maintenance, we display advertising through Google AdSense. Those ads have no influence on our content: consular information is produced on editorial and accuracy grounds, fully independent of advertisers.
You can review how we handle data in our Privacy Policy and our Cookie Policy.
